The truth is, i'm not sure I can. My name is Ben Klopfenstein (I'm told it means Stone-Pounder), and I am beginning a blog that will discuss innovation, information, and 'techno-drivel.' (Also religion, games, politics, literature, and so on...) Of course you can tell by this blog's name that my postings will include plenty of Linux fun, but there is much more to obsess over than just an operating system kernel.
Linux is a kernel, but to many people it is also a concept. Not in the way that all software is made of information, and information is technically just ideas, but in a more real sense too. People who know what they are talking about call this idea "Open Source" or "Free Software." I am fascinated by what makes a totally free system like this tick, and I'm sure I will end up writing about that a lot.
Basically I think that Linux allows innovation in a way few other things ever have in history. Think about that! Throughout history people have been trying to innovate. The drive to find something new and different has led man to cross oceans, enter space, and create incredible works of art. It is this spirit of creativity and ingenuity that has led us to where we are today, and in every major way, the idea of Open Source helps to propel that spirit forward.
Sure! what's a bunch of serious subjects all together worth if you don't discuss the answer to the question of Life, the Universe, and Everything?? (heres a hint - it's 6 • 9 in base 13) What I decide to talk about is limited only by my own imagination, which is limited only by the amount of sleep I don't get. since I usually get precious little sleep, I think this blog will prove to be a fun read!
I am a 23 year old college student in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. There's a lot more to get to know about me, though, so why dont you check it out?
