Lately I have been devoting a portion of my free time to hacking on a nifty program called QtEmu. It is a frontend for qemu-based CPU virtualizers. This sounds complicated, but, thankfully it's not too hard to use. This is the sort of thing that can compete with software like VMware, Paralells and VirtualBox, and in my opinion the interface is way better than VMware or VirtualBox...
